New Leave for Bereaved parents

A Bill entitling parents who lose a child under the age of 18 to two weeks’ paid leave has been published today. Currently, there is no legal obligation for employers to allow parents paid time off.

Increase In Compensation Limits

The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2015 has increased the compensation limits and minimum awards that apply to a range of employment claims.  In summary, the Order raises the limit on compensation for unfair dismissal from £76,574 to £78,335 and the limit on a week’s pay from £464 to £475.  The new rates take effect where the ‘appropriate date’ for the cause of action (such as the date of dismissal or complaint) falls on or after 6 April 2015.

Sikhs May Wear Turbans Instead Of Safety Helmets At The Workplace
